[attr="class","wsdesc"]Since the beginning of known time, the war between the so-called "heavenly races" -- Seraphim and Fallen -- has raged hot and fierce. Heaven and hell, good and evil: the conflict to end all conflicts, indeed, the root of them. Though both Angels and Demons come from the same, supernatural seed and have no greater, reigning master, they still hate one another, as the Biblical accounts tell.
For generations, they took each other out without care, without hesitation. Unthinkable atrocities were committed in the name of justice and peace. However, then both sides grew weary. They had lost many to bloodshed, indeed many who didn't deserve to die so young. Populations were suffering as a whole, in some areas up to a 99% decrease from what they once were. So, gathering the last remaining forces from around the world, Angels and Demons postponed the war and separately began to look for a safe haven: a place to rebuild and regroup, to recover their numbers and build a society.
Perhaps, for all their differences, they were more alike than they thought, because both found and settled in a single stretch of North American wilderness, barely five hundred miles away from each other. This was year B.C.E 350, far before any white man had ever stepped foot on the Virgin continent. Carefully, they divided the land among themselves and started to adapt to new lives. Seraphim named their new home Dayshka and flourished in a territory that would later become part of the Canadian province Alberta. Demons, on the other hand, chose a more southern location and after a few years of struggle began to prosper too, in their small colony of Lockyn. Eventually, they would be assimilated into the American state of Montana.
Little did they know that they were encroaching on another's claim to the land. It didn't take long to discover this when enormous, vicious wolves began to appear at their gates, attacking anyone who dared step into the woods. The Angels and Fallen did their best to fend them off, but even with the power they wielded, they could not.
However, the Demons soon discovered that they had misjudged their enemy. They were not just wolves, but werewolves--shifters who had a settlement of their own several hundred miles to the Northwest. Angels came to this same revelation not long after.
Within that same fifty years, a patrol of Angels and a patrol of Demons came upon each other in the woods. No battle happened that day, but hostility between the two races escalated once more. Neither side felt ready to resume the full-scale war though. So the crafty angels made a plan: they would have the werewolves be their attack dogs. That way, no seraph's life would be lost. Long story short, the tactic worked. Many Fallen died on the day of the first all-out wolf attack. However, though beaten in the battle, they would not be defeated so easily. They, too, recruited the wolves who were loyal to them. This split the werewolf population in half, and two main packs grew out of these new divided alliances--the Seraphic Pack, who fought for the Angels, and the Fallen Pack, who fought for the Demons. Many battles have occurred since then, all of which have taken place between werewolves. Since neither Seraph nor Fallen guide the warfare, they've grown soft through the centuries, happy to let their little "pets" do the bloodshed. Wolves are looked down upon by all but a certain few.
As Dayshka and Lockyn grew into thriving cities of Angels and Demons, a tentative peace has hung suspended in the air for the last several hundred years. Especially, after a cease-combat was issued in 1740...but once again, the hateful sentiment is rising between Seraph and Fallen, and to make matters worse, the Werewolves are starting to realize exactly how badly they've been treated.
This is a recipe for a storm unlike any other.
